Halo 4 is a first-person shooter video game developed by 343 Industries and published by Microsoft Studios for the Xbox 360 video game console. The seventh video game installment in the Halo franchise, the game was released worldwide in November 2012. It was rereleased as part of Halo: The Master Chief Collection for the Xbox One on November 11, 2014. A sequel, Halo 5: Guardians, was released for the Xbox One on October 27, 2015.
Halo 4's story follows a cybernetically enhanced human supersoldier, Master Chief, and his artificial intelligence construct Cortana, as they encounter unknown threats while exploring an ancient civilization's planet. The player assumes the role of Master Chief, who battles against rogue remnants of the military alliance of alien races known as the Covenant and warriors of the Forerunner empire known as the Prometheans. The game features a selection of weapons, enemies, and game modes not present in previous titles of the series.[1]

Halo 4 is one of the many games Hat Films tried out at Eurogamer 2012. After the game is released, they made a series of Halo 4 multiplayer sessions, playing on public servers and trying out the different multiplayer modes. Hat Films is then invited to Honeydew Honey Drive in 2012 to play Halo 4 multiplayer, along with other games, with Martyn and Sparkles*.
Martyn and Strippin did a livestream of themselves playing Halo 4 campaign on Twitch. When the two went for a dinner break midway during their livestream, Lewis and Simon find the unattended livestream setup and continue the campaign until Martyn and Strippin return. The livestream, as well as the footage of Lewis and Simon playing Halo 4, were later uploaded onto their respective YouTube channels.
