The Spider Tree is a location in Minecraftia near the Wall. It is a giant tree covered in cobwebs and spiders, and is part of the Ruined Castle. Inside the tree is a skeleton and a map to another location.
Description[]
The Spider Tree has a large trunk made out of normal oak wood and oak leaves. The tree is about 3 times bigger than a large oak tree. Many cobwebs wrap around the tree. The tree also has quite a lot spiders, possibly due to a spider spawner near the tree.
In both Old Peculier's and Isabel Peculier's story, Old Peculier can be seen next to the spider tree. The trunk has a chest fitted in it. There is a skeleton behind the chest.
History[]
It is unknown how and when the spiders came to inhabit the tree, but the tree itself had existed for a long period of time, dating back to the Pre-Sand War.
In Minecraft - "Shadow of Israphel" Part 36: The Last Letter, the tree was seen in a vision in a letter left by Karpath Antioch. The letter told them to travel there after gaining all the map pieces that were left by him.
Honeydew, Xephos and Knight Peculier journeyed there in Minecraft - "Shadow of Israphel" Part 37: Ballooning by hot air balloons. After getting down from the tree top, they defeated the spiders and obtained the map from inside the chest.
Trivia[]
- The skeleton within the Spider Tree is actually made of retextured orange wool.
- If you dig down near the centre of the Spider Tree, you hit a large hollowed out cavern containing a soulsand volcano and a winding lava stream. This cavern is not accessible in any way from the Spider Tree apart from this.
