The Vidiots, made up of Ben, Peter and Michael, are a trio of content producers for the Yogscast. They produce a wide variety of gaming-related content on their YouTube channel, mostly in the form of shows such as Worst Games Ever, Piece of Cake and Prove It, each of which has its own format.
Beginnings[]
Prior to coming together as the Vidiots, Ben Potter, Peter Austin and Michael Johnson all worked for WhatCulture. Ben and Peter appeared in many videos by WhatCulture Gaming, while Michael worked as a video editor. In 2017, the three decided to leave their jobs at WhatCulture due to feeling unhappy and creatively unfulfilled by the content that they had to produce, which included a large number of lists.[1] Soon afterwards, the Vidiots were born. In January 2018, they joined the Yogscast network, moving into their own office in YogStudios and starting their own YouTube channel.
Endings[]
On 11th of November 2018 it was announced that Vidiots would be ending. Ben and Peter later went on to join a new channel, Triple Jump as part of the Cultaholic Network. Michael currently works for FourthFloorCreative in YogTowers: This team connects brands and content creators to create sponsored content for channels inside and outside of the Yogscast network. The Vidiots brand would continue through regular Twitch streams, and the continual publication of the Podiots podcast.
In 2022, a Vidiots “Tour of Bristol” video came out on the channel which gave viewers a behind the scenes look of areas where filming took place and where anecdotes originated from. The video ended in the old Vidiots room and the term “Vioits” was created.
